So while I didnвЂ™t necessarily buy into EadlynвЂ™s proclamations of love, I felt like Cass did a good job of writing love in a way that was authentic. And I was glad that my mom had chosen to come here, across the country, to the home of a stranger, and trusted a girl on a plane and befriended the girl who drew her baths, and that no matter if and when they parted, they would never be separated. вЂњWe would live together and weave our lives into one anotherвЂ™s and hold on to a sacred sisterhood that only a handful of women every experienced. вЂњMaybe itвЂ™s not the first kisses that are supposed to be special. IвЂ™d had so many luxuries in my life, and I thought IвЂ™d had a taste of this before, but I realized now it was merely a cheap imitation of something not meant to be imitated in the first place.вЂќ вЂњIt was a delicious feeling, falling love. Cass did a fairly eloquent job of conveying certain human experiences, such as love and friendship. The only thing that stopped me from giving The Crown a one-star rating is that I believe the actual writing was perhaps the best in the entire series. The sacrifice of that relationship (seemingly so sturdy in The One) for the sake of adding a trouble-causing character like Marid was a cheap trick. Son of August and Georgia, we learn through Marid that Maxon and America had a falling out with their revolutionary friends. Cass also frustrated me through the character of Marid Illea. The magnitude of her feelings (and his in return) does not match the actual interactions the two characters have had.

The novel pacing is, once again, off, especially considering the point at which Eadlyn realizes she is actually in love with someone.

She remains a self-centered, bratty, spoiled queen-in-training. If The Crown was meant to be redemptive as far as EadlynвЂ™s personality is concerned, then it failed.

Despite the four-star review that I gave the very first book, I donвЂ™t think Cass ever managed re-elevate her series to that status. Review: I must admit, I am not sad to have come to the end of the Selection series. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising youвЂ¦ and soon Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more impossible вЂ“ and more important вЂ“ than she ever imagined. Eadlyn still isnвЂ™t sure sheвЂ™ll find the fairy-tale ending her parents did twenty years ago. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. All the same, it meant something that we ran, didnвЂ™t it?вЂќД«ook Jacket Synopsis: вЂњWhen Eadlyn became the first princess of Illea to hold her own Selection, she didnвЂ™t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. I would give it a 4 stars and encourage people to read it.вЂњI smiled, thinking that Hale and I were in very similar situations, charging headlong into the future with no guarantee of a happily ever after. This book is for people who enjoy romance, fantasy, and legends. I was not bothered by this, but it does keep your mind on it for a while.

There are only a few parts where it really gets intense, but for sensitive people it could put you off. I would recommend this book for ages 12 and up, for the SirensвЂ™ job is extremely intense and all the death could be too much for many people.

It is beautiful and heartbreaking at times. It is more of a sister bond, and the characters are closer than any friendship that could possibly be. I would describe this book as romance and fantasy, and though many people would call it a romance, I was surprised to find that there is more of a story than a romance and there is a lot more to the book than meets the eye.Д«ut the highlights of the book that no one can miss are the strong friendships between the main characters. This is one of those books that also makes you think in different ways, and it can cloud the area of what is right and wrong but not in a bad way. I enjoy stories like this, but for people who prefer full-on action, it may be a slightly little slower beat for them. The story has been laid out so that you are interested at all times, and after each page you can never wait to turn to the next one.
